A new take on further education comes in the form of Hyper Island, a school that specialises in all things creative and digital.
But this isn’t like a normal school as the first line on their website shows:
“At Hyper Island there are no teachers or tests. No homework gets set, and no schoolbooks are needed. Instead, people who come to Hyper Island learn by doing.”
Hyper Island started in Stockholm, Sweden but has been popping up in other cities including Manchester.
Their programmes include:
- Interactive Media Management
- Digital Media
- Interactive Art Director
- Mobile Applications
…and many more.
The education is based on real industry needs, and their method lets students study on their own first, before giving a lecture on that particular topic. It’s a great way of cementing the knowledge into the brain. It feels like a backwards way of teaching but the percentage of people getting jobs after graduating from Hyper Island is incredibly high and turning more than a few heads. If you’re into digital creativity, or would like to know more about it, they’re definitely worth checking out!
